We are back *sorta*! After a temporary shutdown due to fraud issues and Square’s payment headaches, we’ve reopened our store, fueled by the renewed hype in the market. Moving forward, high-value items will only be available via wire transfer or in-person in Vancouver—our shop’s stellar feedback speaks for itself.
As for ETBs, we’ve got plenty in stock but left them marked as “SOLD OUT” for now since the market is still flooded. #HODL And for all the new “modern” releases—just a heads-up: Pokémon tends to reprint successful sets in a few years. We don’t recommend overpaying for these boxes just yet. Food for thought! Finally, we are NOT going break apart our complete set on eBay nor reduce the asking price for no more than $1. :) Why else would you come to our online store?

We finally completed the Pokemon TCG: Elite Trainer Box collection - North America on Good Friday. It was such a journey to obtain each and every ETB. Each box has its' own story in arriving in our hands. Our Plasma Storm, Plasma Blast, and Furious Fists came from Montreal, Canada. Meanwhile, Yveltal, Xerneas and Phantom Forces came all the way from San Francisco, USA. Our first Roaring Skies was purchased on eBay auction. Meanwhile, our first Ancient Origins, Primal Clash Groudon & Kyogre, and Generations was purchased pure luck off a collector while we were purchasing Shining Legends. Majority of our elite trainer boxes were purchased via Facebook market, online hobby stores and eBay like any other collectors. The only elite trainer boxes that we were able to obtain via retail initial MSRP was only Battle Styles, Shining Fates, Vivid Voltage, Champions Path, and Rebel Clash. Majority of our ETBs on our site was purchased via secondary market pricing. It's safe to say that we are the only Pokemon shop in Canada that has every Elite Trainer Box available for sale upon request.
our take on shining fatesIt has been a few weeks now since Pokemon TCG: Shining Fates was released on February 19, 2021 in North America. In our opinion, the scalpers killed the hype of this Pokemon set by creating a huge demand over available supply. Realistically, the scalpers inflated the pricing of this set which has made it very unaffordable for regular collectors to open packs. On top, Shining Fates card set is less intriguing than their foreign counterpart Pokemon's Shiny Star V (SSV) - Japanese set. Personally, we prefer the lateral of SSV over Shining Fates. There are more hits and variety of full art pieces in SSV. We have also noticed the steady increase of price of SSV again. We would also rank higher for Pokemon TCG: Hidden Fates over Shining Fates in our personal opinion.
Shining Fates price value has been a rollercoaster since its presale was announced. The price started from $65 CAD to $100 CAD to $140 CAD to upwards of $200+ on eBay. Majority of hobby stores in Canada started to sell Shining Fates pre-sales at $140-160+ CAD, however we've seen many stores now reduced their price by 20-30% of their presale pricing. Current market trend is seeing Shining Fates pricing drop towards Champions Path pricing. (Note: We do not believe the price of SF will drop as low as CP since SF set is still far superior than CP set) In general, we would advise card collectors to wait for the 2nd and 3rd wave of prints of Shining Fates. This set is brand new and will be reprinted numerous times. Good deals happens to those who can wait. Stay patient and you shall be rewarded. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR
![]() Our Pokemon elite trainer boxes collection began at the end of November 2020. My 5 year old son "Avery" was into the Pokemon GO game and I decided to join the Pokemon craze with him. Our first ETB was a Sword & Shield: Vivid Voltage at Walmart. There was 1 box laying at the back of the shelf and we grabbed it since the box looked cool. Didn't even know that VV elite trainer box was $65 CAD. It wasn't cheap at all. We both had no clue on how sought out elite trainer boxes nor how hyped-up Pokemon in general was during this time. We got home and opened the box with the sealed packs. We didn't pull any good cards but Avery's excitement was worth every dollar. We were hooked afterwards and decided to attempt to collect all those cool elite trainer boxes. Down to the final 7 hardest elite trainer boxes to collect. |
